A Holanda chega com um lugar especial na história do corfebol. Foi nos Países Baixos que a modalidade nasceu, no início do século XX, pensada desde a origem para equipas mistas, responsabilidade partilhada e uma forma diferente de olhar para a competição.
É também um país com uma ligação profunda à água, ao movimento e ao aproveitamento do espaço. Grande parte do território situa-se abaixo do nível do mar, marcado por diques, canais e uma capacidade constante de adaptação à paisagem.
Em junho, a seleção neerlandesa traz essa herança para a costa de Portugal no IKF Beach Korfball World Cup Europe 2026. Na areia da Costa de Caparica, será uma oportunidade para ver uma das grandes referências do corfebol competir numa versão mais rápida, intensa e jogada na praia.

The Netherlands arrives with a special place in korfball’s story. This is where the sport was created, at the beginning of the 20th century, built from the start around mixed teams, shared responsibility and a different way of thinking about competition.
It is also a country with a long relationship with water, movement and open space. Much of the Netherlands sits below sea level, shaped by dikes, canals and an everyday ability to adapt to the landscape around it.
This June, the Dutch team brings that heritage to the Portuguese coast for the IKF Beach Korfball World Cup Europe 2026. On the sand of Costa de Caparica, it will be a chance to see one of korfball’s reference nations compete in a faster, beach-based version of the game it helped give to the world.
